Robert Utterback

Data Science Instructor

Robert Utterback is an assistant professor of computer science in the Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. His research specialty is parallel computing, with an emphasis on utilizing efficient run-time systems to detect bugs in parallel programs. Recently he has made forays into applied machine learning and data science, especially text mining.

Robert teaches a wide variety of computer science and data science courses and played an integral role in designing Monmouth College's new Data Science program in 2019. He loves learning new skills and is passionate about spreading the beauty of computer science and data science to others.
